Soil DeCompaction

Tree-Reviter

Simply de-compacting soil within a tree root zone can work wonders for trees, de-compacted soil allows the tree to obtain moisture, freely drain and obtain essential oxygen.

Arbor Aeration, owns a small ‘Tree-Reviter’ soil de-compaction machine that drives a pneumatic steel tube into the soil to a depth of up to 500mm. The operator simply opens a valve, and a blast of compressed air goes through the steel tube and into the compacted soil, the resulting hole can either be left, or backfilled with a hydroscopic material of some kind such as horticultural sand or calcified seaweed. The de-compaction tool is powered by a small self propelled Honda powered compressor, the soil de-compactor comes with 10m of hose, and due to the compressors light weight and narrow width we can access the most restricted areas.

Arbor Aeration has seen some extremely positive results on urban trees, using this method. Some remarkable new growth has been noticed in particular.

Arbor Aeration offers this service nationwide.
